Ripa and Svetlana represented Armenia at Umeå 2014-EYP Sweden’s 1st Youth Forum

We have talked with EYP Alumnus Ripa Hovsepyan and Svetlana Hovhannisyan, who are back home from Umeå 2014 – EYP Sweden’s 1st Youth Forum.

Svetlana: Let me tell a couple of words about Umeå and of its choice to host such great event. Umeå, the beautiful town of Sweden, was recognized as the Cultural  Capital of Europe in 2014, and yes, it proved it is worth. Umeå youth forum was revolving around the concept of culture as a driving force in development. The topics distributed within 7 committees aimed to explore the wide ranging aspects of culture. The forum consisted of one day of team building, 3 productive days of a committee work and the last GA day.

Call for participants at the International EYP Public Speaking (IEPS) Competition in Armenia

It is our great pleasure to inform you that the International EYP Public Speaking (IEPS) Competition will take place on 18-20 July, 2014 in Yerevan, Armenia. Around 40 participants from around 20 countries will come together for this 3-day program that will comprise of Teambuilding, Euro Village, Workshop on Public Speaking, Euro Concert, General Assembly (Competition), trips to the sightseeing places of Armenia.

Have you always wanted to speak up on the topic of your interest and didn’t have the opportunity? What would you like the nationals of 20 countries to hear if you were given just 10 minutes? Carahunge folk-rock band. “Old songs must not be forgotten”.

Carahunge is folk-rock project founded in December of 2012. The mission of the project is to revive some pieces of folk- song masterpieces covered with dust of the history and perform them in new mode.  

We have talked with group vocalist Sirun Shekoyan, who is an EYP Alumnus.

We are representing old songs and music which has some mysticism in them. Carahunge or Stonehenge is also considered to be a place still covered with not fully discovered information or hiding some mystery in it. And the name was offered by Tigran’s friend who had heard us.

We liked that name and took it with pleasure. The main idea is to revive old, maybe forgotten songs and music.

To our mind we shall be deprived of something important if we just ignore...
