2nd National Selection Conference

The 2nd National Selection Conference of European Youth Parliament (EYP) – Armenia on “The EU and Eastern Partnership: on the way to a deeper cooperation” took place November 1-4, in Yerevan and was hosted by American University of Armenia under the motto “I.D.E.A : Initiate, Debate, Empower, Advocate”. 135 Students, Chairs and Journalists from Armenia, Georgia, Poland, Ukraine, France, Germany, Russia, Sweden, Romania, Russia, Czech Republic, Kazakhstan, Montenegro were allocated to the 7 Committee of Foreign Affairs, Economic and Monetary Affairs, International Trade, Civil Liberties, Home Affairs and Justice, Employment and Social Affairs, Security and Defense, Human Rights. Among the subtopics of the session  there were: “What should the EU’s policy be towards regimes in the grey zone between democracy and autocracy (Belarus, Azerbaijan)?” , “How can the DCFTA framework be reconsidered to make it plausible for Armenia to sign it give the decision of the latter to join the Customs Union?”, etc. The 3-day event comprised Team Building, Euro Concert, Committee Work, General Assembly, the Cultural Night and Field Trips for International Delegates . Based on the chair’s nominations and the delegates’ vote the 3 participants:Nikolay Harutyunyan, Anna Daghlaryan, Raffi Elliott were recognized Best Delegates and will represent EYP Armenia at the 75th International European Youth Parliament (EYP) Session in Riga which gather around 300 Delegates from around 40 European Countries.
